In the event of rain on Saturday, September 10th, 2011, or a storm on Sunday, September 11th, 2011, the tournament will be rescheduled for Sunday, September 25th, 2011.

And, as a result, we're going to postpone the double-header to another (hopefully cooler!) weekend.
That means we'll play the 3 and 4 pm games as scheduled today, but we'll push the 5 and 6 pm games off to another week.

Due to poor field conditions, the City of Hamilton has closed all sports fields at this time. Our season opener will be pushed to Sunday, June 5th. Please see the "schedules" section of the website to see when you play.

The City of Hamilton has urged Gilkson Park to remain closed to soccer until after the May long weekend due to wet field conditions. As a result, our season will now start on Sunday, May 29th.

We seem to be expecting thunderstorms later today, but not till 5 pm or so.
Hopefully they'll hold off till after the games so that you can enjoy the view from the comfort of your own homes.
Jacquie is away today, so in the event that there is a last minute cancellation look for an email/phone call from your captains instead of checking the website (though Jacquie will try to post from afar if she can).

Bring some water along, but preferably in a reusable water bottle to save on waste. If you bring a disposable water bottle, please recycle it :)

The schedule for this season is up, though there are currently some errors in game times which will soon be fixed.
For now, if you're looking at the schedule, the first game of each Sunday will be at 3 pm, while the other two games will be at 4 pm (the schedule for some says 5:30 pm, but this is INCORRECT).

I'm sorry to say that today's exhibition game is CANCELED.
The fields are just too wet to play on today.
On the bright side, Gilkson Community Council will still be hosting a BBQ up at Gilkson park with burgers & hot dogs from Lick's. If you're still available and don't mind braving a little rain, please head over to the park to say hello and show your support.

We had gorgeous weather for our first games and a great turnout.
Captains - please remember to submit scores after games to keep our standings up to date.
Players - feel free to encourage friends to continue to join. We can still add ladies to our teams (ask them to put your name, first & last, as their code word), and once we're full, we'll start a waiting list.

The first game of the season is soon upon us and the sun is shining!
The first games will be this Sunday, May 24th at Gilkson Park at 2 pm (with a third game at 3 pm).
Please go to the "schedules" section of the website for match-ups and future game times. See "field locations" for a map showing how to get to Gilkson Park.
Please arrive 1 hour prior to game time to give your team an opportunity to distribute jerseys, meet one another, and get organized.
Please DO NOT FORGET to bring soccer cleats, shin pads, and soccer socks (and sunscreen probably isn't a bad idea!). Leave jewelery, valuables, purses, etc. at home.

The answer is yes, you can!

We can hardly believe that the first season in Hamilton is coming to a close. Remember there is no soccer this week as it is Labour Day.
